  • Single, Female, 22y/o applying for B2 visa

I'm planning to apply for a B2 visa this month. Last month I tried to apply for a B2 visa but I got rejected. The councilor told me I'm too young to travel by myself. I'm planning to visit US August this year for less than 2 weeks.

Real reason I want to go to US is to see my boyfriend and attend his brother's wedding. Well, I only met him online and wanted to see him personally after 5 years of dating. I'm not sure if I should tell the councilor that I'm going to US to visit my boyfriend since they might think that there's a possibility that i would illegally stay with him. I'm still young, graduated 2 years ago. I don't have much ties in the country I'm currently living in. I do have a job though where I've been working for almost 2 years. I'm tied with a work contract and it would end next year October.

I need some advices. I really wanted to get a visa. How could I possibly convince them that my intentions are good and I don't have plans on staying there despite my boyfriend is an US citizen. Should I tell them that I'm visiting my boyfriend or just simply tell them I'm visiting a friend? I'm confused. I need help.

Mentioning Boyfriend is obviously very wrong.

Your young and single status and (recently graduated) make you a potential immigrant. So,
whatever you say to convince them won't matter.

Please post your last interview. What did you say your purpose was the last time?
Do you have any relatives in US? On what visas?
What is your income at your job? ( low, medium , high)

For my last interview she asked

C: how long you've been living here in sg?
      Me: almost 2 years
      C: have you already graduated?
Me: yes I already graduated from university
      C: isn't that too young?
Me: I graduated when I was 20 years old and it's normal in my country
C: it states here you will be travelling alone, you're too young to be travelling so far from here. Sorry I can't give you a visa today.

I have a cousin in US, however we really haven't kept in touch for a very long time now. She had a fiance visa and got married to a US citizen. For my annual income, it's around the medium range.

        *age
        * single status
        * living abroad on a contract,
        *going alone to US,

all these things are negative combined.

Maybe you could from a group of 2-3 friends in sg , and apply for a vacation trip to US
with friends, that would look more natural , rather than going alone.

Or you have to settled down with a permanent job at home, then apply.

One of my friend wants to apply a visa too. We're same age, female and single. If we apply together would there be a chance to get a visa?

You can try but no guarantees because of your negative factors.

By the way, which country are you from ?
Do you plan to go back there?
            do you have parents there?
