Tourist Visa While at Frankfurt Airport

Hey Guys!

I have been calling the german consulate but have not gotten a hold of anyone so I wanted to send this out to the group:

I am traveling to West Africa through Frankfurt and I have a USA green card (USA resident permit) and a West African passport. Once I am at the airport, is it possible to get a tourist visa at immigration or border control? My transit time is 11 hours...I know I do not need a transit visa...but I may want to exit the airport for a few hours.

Any thoughts on this would be highly appreciated.

Citizens of all West African countries require a visa in advance to enter Germany, so get one before you leave the US.
