Applying B2 Visa

Hi,

I am an Australian citizen and planning to apply for the B2 visa. I would like to stay there for a period of 5months to continue my dance training (which I believe is stronger than the training in Aus.) I have strong family ties back at home and jobs that are expecting me on my return.

I am planning to be in the states March 2014 and return to Aus July 2014.

What month should I book my visa interview for? Is there a time period that it is valid from the date it is approved?

First of all , I am not too sure "dance training" comes under the scope of a B1/B2 visa.

And most importantly, if your visa is denied, you will never be able to use your visa-waiver privilege .

So, tread carefully.

If possible, do what you have to do using your visa waiver visits made twice some time apart.

Just wanted to say another thank you for your input- after more research and pondering I've decided not to apply for the B2 Visa. It's definitely not worth risking my VWP.
