  • need a b2 visa.. urgent..!!

    hi,

my friend and i will be travelling to USA in august, 2013 for tourism purpose. I have a B1/B2 visa whereas my friend has to apply for one and while going through the basic questions asked during the interview, we got stuck at few points:

    1st point:
as he is the first person to travel in his immediate family and he's travelling alone.. saying that his parents have to settle his younger brother and his dad is setthing up a new business.. valid enough to ans the quest why he's travelling alone?
he has relatives there but we are keen on giving reference of his dad's best friend who is a green card holder there and is settled in New York.. do you think giving uncle's reference will be enough or relatives reference is more imp?

    2nd point:
he is single but is in middle of CA course and will have to be back to appear for his CA final exams to be held in May'14. We have the Institute's letter which clearly shows his enrollment and a training form which shows the duration of his training to be completed to complete the course and he is the eldest son of the family. Do you think this must information is plenty enough to prove his strong ties to the country.

    3rd point:
i have visited USA last year on b2 visa and was back in time, can he give my details or reference for the same?

hope to see your reply soon...!!!

Young and single people going as tourists are the most suspect not to return.
Such people are successful when they can show strong family income + wealth in India.
Also, a history of travel to other countries really helps.

    can you post
*what his dad does and roughly what his income is ( less than 1L /mo , 1-2L/m, 2L+)
*has your friend ever been abroad before ?
*what exact relatives does he have in US? On what visas?

thanks for such a quick reply..

his dad is starting a new business and he has just resigned from a company.. his last monthly salary withdrawn was above Rs. 2L.. they are financially very strong.. his father is a civil engineer by profession and has travelled to various countries in past excluding usa.. on the other hand my friend is dubai born and shifted back to india in 1998 and from then has not travelled to any other country..

he has many relatives but are not immediate family.. all are green cardholders and are living there for more than 10 years..

i know it will be difficult but it is true that he has to come back to finish his training and CA exams.. such exams are not held anywhere else and this degree is not even recognised in usa.. how else can we prove his ties?

      thanks again...!!

Going as a tourist all the way to US ( alone or even with you) when he has not really toured any other country in his adult life,
raises suspicion of other motives, and brings on immediate denial.

The best way is to show visiting one of his close cousins in US ( should not mention you at all in the application) during vacation.
If there is a family function like a wedding etc, it is even better. If one other family member can travel with him, it is even better.
Visiting family sounds very natural while tourism alone does not.
SHould ask for a short duration matching his leave /vacation from school.
Should show funding by his dad and carry his income papers.
Can get an invitation from his cousin in US.

No gurantees still, but with luck he can get it.

is reference of his mother's cousin valid enough?? is it a far of relation according to the visa counselor ?

or can he just mention that they are his first cousins..? is there any way through which they can find out the exact relation between my friend and the reference?

does the profile of reference help in any way for visa approval? like reference is a renowned doctor in USA and is settled there for past 15 to 20 years after completion of her studies..

thanks a lot for helping out so quickly..
