  • A son- in- law sponsoring a mother- in- law for the US visitor visa.

    Hi,

I am wondering if it is possible for my husband to sponsor my mother, who lives in India, for the US tourist visa to visit us for a couple of months.

My husband and I got married at the court in January, 2013. However, we haven't completed/
submitted the application for my green card. I'm an F-1 visa holder. My husband is a US citizen and
having a reliable/decent job. Is there any possibility that my husband can sponsor my
mom while my paper is in the process. What are we supposed to do in terms of the sponsorship if it is possible.
    Please help me with ideas.

In advance, thank you for your time.

Yes, he can send the papers ( I-134 and tax return, savings statement)
, it does not matter if you are F-1 and GC under process.

More important than all that are your mother's family /work ties at home. Does she have any other children living with her
in INdia? What about your dad? Is she working?

She lives with my dad, and my brother, who has a two year old son. She doesn't work since she needs to babysit my nephew. My dad is a government employee.

Mothers going alone to visit married daughters, they suspect pregnancy.
They usually deny for that purpose.

I suggest both your parents should apply even if for a short stay . Your dad should apply for
leave and when he gets it with an NOC from GOvt., both should apply.

If your dad earns 1L /month or more, he can show self funding.
Or else your husband can sponsor both of them.

With your dad's job and your brother in India living with them( ties to India), they have
        a good chance.

          Hello,

I have a quick question, my husband wants to apply for my parents to visit USA, they have already been rejected 3 times before, now i am a student and he is on valid H1, but the problem is i am not sure if my husband can apply for my parents or not? and if they interviewer asks them why is your daughter not sponsoring then what do they tell? And am i suppose to be his dependent in order to sponsor for them..?

Would be grateful if i get a reply for this.

          Thanks
          Pari

            Hi Pari,
It is better your sponsor them. Just invite them for some ceremony happening with reference to your studies (graduation, some competition etc)
This will help a lot to get visa, meanwhile, get your husband's supporting documents that your parents will be taken care.

Ensure, both (father n mother) won't apply together. Because CO should get convinced that they both will return back to India.

Like having bank loans, business, either one spouse stays back in India, have own house or other property.,

So ensure you meet these things, then you can expect 70% of getting visa approved.
            Good Luck
