  • One english letter was different in Last name of Parents and Son

    Hi Gurus,

One english letter was different in my last name and my parents last name. This was happend just because of pronounciation and printing the name in engilsh.

In all my creditionals, passport and currently, I am using my last name is xxxTxxx , But in my parents passport the last name was typed xxxHxxx

I guess my parents might have written their name xxxHxxx when they applied for the passort. I took the web appointment using their passport last name(xxxHxxx)

Is this a problem when they go to Consulate? How can I correct/show an evidence to the Counsler Officer when he asked in the consulate? Can I get any Correction letter from some one (Or Pasport office) saying that this name can be pronounced like this also?

Please suggest me on how to handle the situation and appreciate your help in advance.

    Regards,
    Hari

    Hi,
It is not the pronounciation that matters. Just fill their name in the DS 156 exactly the way it appears in the passport. It does not matter if you took the appointment using a different spelling. Just mention and enter the correct spelling ( as in passport ) in the forms.
