US-VISIT entry-exit question

Just a curious question:

If you overstay your visa or VWP waiver by an unforutnate few days, and you use the new US-VISIT exit procedure, does it log you as an overstay straight away on the database?

Does it matter if it is straightaway or later? It is recorded as an overstay,
period.

I was just wondering how the US-VISIT works as to recording info now, versus how the I-94 entry/departure forms were/are recorded, that is all
