Self sponsoring Visitor Visa to USA

Hi,

I am in USA on L1-B for past 3 years. My petition was expired last October but I have valid I-94 till next May-2013.

we wanted to invite my wife parents and they are planning on applying for their Visiting ( B2) visa on self sponcer.

I have a few queries -

i) Instead of me sponsoring for their visit - can they sponsor it themselves? They have sufficient amount in the bank?
ii) My father-in-law is a farmer and has agricultural land in India, but he never filed INCOME TAX and he does not have copies of tax returns. So it looks like if the sponsor has not filed a tax return, he must provide a sworn statement explaining why he did not file a return. How and where he can get sworn statement?
iii) Since he is a farmer, he does not have any evidence to show liquid cash/funds how he had earned (he earned money through forming his landing) but he have enough funds in his account to show his financial ability to support their trip to USA. Also they have land passbooks. Do they need to show/provide any evidence on money how did they earned?

I would really appreciate your response and thoughts.

Yes, he can self-sponsor.

However, he still needs to show how much is income and how he got that income. Even though he does not have to pay income tax according to rule in India, he still should have some kind of proof of his income such as invoices, bills or something that would prove income and source of money.

Not having any proof (documents) of any kind is no good.
