Hi,
I am preparing the documents and applications to apply for visiting visa - B1/B2 for my in-laws. I went through the immihelp.com site and finished the DS-160 and I-134 forms. I have also prepared all the documents required by the sponsor. Recently my friend informed me that he filled the I-156 when he applied for his parents visa (B1/B2) and that they had submitted the form at the consulate. When I researched the I-156 form, it gave the following details.
DS-156: Nonimmigrant Visa Application (K category applications only)
DS-156E: Nonimmigrant Treaty Trader / Investor Application
DS-156K: Nonimmigrant Fiancé(e) Visa Application
I am applying for a visiting visa - B1/B2 so they can come visit us. Immihelp did not list I-156 form among its list of documents/forms for visitor visa. Now I am confused if this form is required or not and if I have to fill this form. Can somebody please confirm me if I have to fill the I-156 form for my in-laws. If so, can they fill the I-156 form themselves since I have prepared the DS-160 application. A quick response will be appreciated as I have booked their visa dates in 2 weeks.
