is it compulsory that one needs to fill the ds 160 before scheduling an appointment.
cant we first schedule the appointment and before the appointment date, fill out the ds 160. pls confirm

i am applying for US visa thru Toronto, Canada.

You will need to submit the DS160 before you schedule the appointment. DS160 is the application for the Visa.

For scheduling your interview, you will have to mention your DS-160 form number in the login account you created. These are all inter-linked.
