  • Visitor Visa Denied

    Hi

    My visitor visa was denied on grounds of clause 214b (not strong enough social and economic ties with India). My brother is a green card holder in US. I am single, 30yrs of age and am self employed individual. Because of my ill health, I am unable to pursue a 9-5 job.

    During the interview, I had shown Affidavit of Support from my brother, a respectable bank balance of over 1L and statements. Since my brother is not in India, I am also looking after my parents who don't keep well. I have applied twice and been denied on same grounds. My parents have a 10 yr visa. What are the possibilities of me getting a visa? Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Thanks.

    *If you are young and single ,
    *your GC holder brother is sending you an I-134
    * your purpose of visit is casual
    * you do not have very strong financial ties at home

    then these are all the ingredients for a refusal.

    suggestions;

    1.Build up your financial base( 1 lac is meagre) and show good
    income from your business through tax returns, balance sheets,
    etc.
    2. Do not ask for an I-134 from your brother. A young person
    showing an I-134 is in fact showing his financial inability to pay for his
    trip. Apply only when you have enough funds.
    3.Get a real purpose to visit. Like a business visit that is related to your
    business in India.
