    DEAR Immi help

i applied for a tourist visa b2 for myself wife 2 kids and sister(dependant on me). my sister once living with my parents applied for US B2 visa and was denied. but now after five years when i was filling her form by mistake i replied "no " to query regarding did she applied previously for a visa? i replied no for her case by mistake. i submitted forms with american express yesterday(on 16 jul 2013) they gave me interview dayte of 30th jul2013. today on 18 jul i realised that i have done wrong. please sir guide me what to do in this case??? today on 18th jul morning i called USA consulate at Karachi Pakistan, that such and such has happened. a very kind man told me that once u come for interview tell the VO before he asks that such and such mistake has been made by you. if you point it out it will be consider mistake if the VO is going to find it will be a blunder! i was bit satisfied later i again called embassy to inquire regarding same. there was some other person who told me that when u come here and hands over your passports to th e admin officer tell him that such mistake has occured, and request him to put remarks in ur form. now dear please help me what to do. my interview date is on 30 jul 2013.

There is a scenario that has to be considered:

    1. First, determine how you found out you made a wrong entry.
    2. Did you print out a copy for your self to review after it was submitted?
    3. Correct the wrong entry on the copy with all information and take with you to interview. Explain you have amended D-160 with corrections. Explain you reviewed the submitted document and made corrections.

If you have no copy that you reviewed and just so found out there was wrong info; after talking to your sister, just take relevant documents that have dates that were denied and explain at interview that denial came to light after the fact.

This is important as officer will determine if its an honest mistake. Don't make too much fuss and DON'T OFFER any other explanation/circumstances unless you are asked a question. Show that you are excited to have the opportunity to visit U.S. and willing to spend lots of money while you're there (shopping, tour, etc).

      dear sir
      thanks for the reply
yes i took prints of it and was reviewing it in my own time when i found out that i have done a wrong thing. my question is when should i tell the VO(at what moment)?
i already made a call to US consulate telling them the truth. what you say? how i should explain that this happened. apart i want to know what u mean by "not making fuss" and "offering explainations". sir i would be greatful if u offer your experienced comments.
      thanks

Follow the advice when you called the consulate.
When you meet the VO, hand him the amended document. Say there is a correction made while you were reviewing them.
That is it. If he ask you questions, keep it simple. and keep a smile.

One warning is whenever there is amended document, it can delay your application.
In U.S., we would send in the Amended document prior to interview.
