  • Mom's B2 visa rejected 18 yrs back. Do we need to mention it while applying now ?

    Hi experts,

My mother had applied for B2 visa in 1995 and her visa application got rejected then. It was my cousin's wedding here in US for which she was appliying tourist visa.
Also at That time it was my uncle who was sponsoring her visa.

Now we are here in US from last 2 years. I'm on H4 and my husband is on H1. We would like to apply B2 visa for both of my parents. But are confused shall we mention about her previous rejection or we could just skip it as it was long back.

Also shall we go ahead with my husband sponsoring their visa or they should self-sponsor. What will be the safest bid? Their visa interview will be in New-Delhi.

I've another sister who lives in India. Also my parents have running business in our hometown.

    Kindly advise.

    Thanks,
    Kansal

Do not suppress any info. Even if it is long back , it is very likely they have all the systems updated.

A lie caught is 100 times worse than a previous denial declared. They will bar them permanently.

A denial so long back won't have any adverse impact on her current application.

Showing a running business with good income
and self funding will go in their favor. But they must have good income for that.
If they earn like 12-15 lacs per year, they can show self funding.
    If < 12 L,your husband can sponsor.
