Visa issuance statistics

Hi,

Does anybody know what are the number of visas issued in Mumbai and that in Chennai. It seems like there are greater number of rejections in Mumbai as compared to Chennai. If this is true, this is very unfair. Does the consulate announce these numbers anywhere?

I am having such a bitter feeling for this Mumbai US consulate. I think bunch of morons are filled in the Mumbai consulate.

I wonder if just one consulate rejects more and others less and so on. Each consulate does have its quota per year and sometimes the numbers do pop up in the newspapers.

Chennai faces high traffic when compared to other consulates, but that simply doesnt' decide which one rejects more or vice versa.

I am sure ur experience was way bitter...but perhaps many faced the same at the chennai consulate for no obvious reason this summer. Many of us got our parents' visas approved after a couple of attempts. Keep trying and read more of such stories from experiences section.

I am sure each consulate has its own rules and regulation. For an appointment in 1st week of december, the consulate has asked me to send the documents with in 19th of september. What logic?? In chennai thats not the case.

I thought only here Americans see that we spend each cent we earn, now american consulate is draining my dollars.

dear, looks like that you dont like american policy , hey thats their home, they just cant allow everyone to enter. will you allow everyone to let in your home, so the same thing, consular is the boss, they can decide any thing.

this is just our fault, we are begging for visa, a long que of people in all us embassies, why so many people wants to go to usa, why,just think

I am not against anyone's policy it should be fair and just. I pay money hence I expect some justification to the rejections. It should not be at the disposal of someone's mood. If people with all children in US can get a visa, why not my mother, who has 4 more children in India.

Without asking a single question if they can make decision, what kind of system and policy is it? Who is stopping them from asking questions, do background checks , ask for any proof, we are ready to submit it but I don't agree to this weird mood-based policy.

There is no need for you to justify to me what they are doing.
