  • Mother's Visitor Visa Question- Need help !!!

    Hello,

My mom attended US visitor visa interview last month. she is employed but due to some reasons, we have shown her as a housewife. As taking long leave from her employer was not easy. Unfortunately, Her visa got refused due to 214(b).

Now, I am planning to call hr for 1-2 months only. Is there any way that we can correct that and in next visa interview ..show her as employed.

What would be the best explanation for embassy.

    PLEASE give me yr suggestions.

    THANKS.

Not advised. They will take it as lying the first time and will refuse you again.
I think the best thing is to apply again as a housewife. Plenty of housewives
get visas. Just try to overcome the reason she was refused.

If I am not too inquisitive, may i know why you decided not to disclose her employment last time?

          Dear Veena : Thanks..No u are not.

She works for semi-govt (50% state govt + 50% private)college for last 25 years. It was not easy to get NOC from managment as they are all typical 'neta' type people which may ask you mony or create hurdles otherwise. Hence, we decided to avoid that route.

Pls. help me if something can be done now. Can we say she has joined recently or was on 1 year leave hence we mentioned 'Housewife'. We have her income tax for me etc.

          Pls. suggest.

            Hi,
It is not wise to mention that she was on 1 year leave if you are not able to support that with documentation like a leave approval from your mother's college. When they have their rules for issuing NOC, why would they want to give her the kind of leave sanction which is actually false? You should not have mentioned taht she was a housewife. Now that you have done it you should not go back on it. So try to revamp her other binding ties and see what happens.
