  • Visitor Visa

    My mom and dad are attending for visitor visa for the first time in Chennai on Sep 14th. My father took a voluntary retirement 3 years back. He is managing an "old age home" with few other members since last 10years. Being difficult to maintain both his job and home, he took voluntary retirement. My grandmother is there whom my father needs to take care as he is the only son. He has all the original documenst for the property (more than 2 crores), bank deposits, income tax returns etc...
    How good is it for his visa? What questions may be expected?
    Any help is appreciated..Urgent.

      These are the common interview questions;

      1. What do you do?
      2. How many children do you have in India?
      3. Who is in US?
      4. Why do you want to go?

      They may decide only on the basis of the answers to these qs without
      even looking at any documents. For example, If he says 'retired" to the first Q and "none" to the second, they may deny right away.
      Or if the answers are fine , they may go on to ask more
      qs in depth and look at some of the documents.

      It could be better if your mother applied alone requesting a short visit
      like 1-2 months.Your father would serve as tie at home to which she
      would come back. Your father could apply later after your mother
      has made a trip.
