B1/B2 1 year vs 10 year

I got B1/B2 for 10 years and My friend got B1/B2 for 1 year.

Why there is difference in duration?
Both of us have Indian Passport.

The validity of visa granted to an applicant is at the discretion of the Visa officer.

He / she would have considered your current situation as fit for travel to the US for next 10 years while in your friends case maybe his current situation looks good but VO may not be convinced about future situation.
