  • visa rejection

My parents had gone for an interview on 1st Sept at mumbai consulate. My dad was asked asked how many children do you have and where are they,
My one sister is in Libya who joined her husband after marriage, and other one is in mumbai, unmarried. and asked about the age of the one in mumbai, she is 25. They answered this and she didn't ask anything further to them. Their visa was rejected, the officer didn't give any reasons for rejection.
I am wondering on what basis they were not granted visa.
Can anyone give some input. I was thinking may be becoz Libya is one of the embargoed countries.

Many times, it is not clear what caused the rejection.

1.Would it be advisable to reapply with a month or should one wait for few months before reapplying.
      2. Also do they keep note of what one answered in previous interview. I mean if one changes the answer the next time, could that have bad effect.

With parents they often take children as ties to home country. People with no children or children old enough to be independent may be denied.

It is advisable to wait some months and they must present evidence of
very good ties to home country. It will be a good idea for your mother to
apply and visit US alone and your dad can apply later.

They keep a note of all interviews, so one should not lie or the visa
can be refused on the grounds of "inconsistencies."
