First name of my parents are different in my passport and their passports - B2 visa

Hi IMM HELP,

Hope everyone is doing great. I have a question regarding B2 visa I would be applying for my mother and father but the first names are different in my passport and in their passports. So can you please let me know if this will be a problem while applying Visa.

Below example.

Father’s Name: Madhukar Reddy
Mother’s Name: Latha R

Their actual names in their passports:

Father’s Name: Madhukara Reddy
Mother’s Name: Sumalatha R

Father's Name : Girish Chauhan
Mother name : Vasudha Chauhan ( Our family changed mother's name after their marriage ) But I have a affidavit stating that it is a same person. Will that work ??

If the name on your parents passport is incorrect then tell them to get it corrected as it is much more simpler now. It will take only few weeks for passport authorities to make the required changes and issue a new passport. Passport is an important personal identification document so you dont want them to have it with wrong details in important fields like Name, Address and DOB.

In case parents name on your passport is incorrect then let your parents fill DS-160 as per their passport details. While filling DS 160 there is another column which says "Have you ever used other names " - Select Yes and mention the right name there. This will solve your problem.

They must have some reasoning as to why there is a change / discrepancy in name.

Ds 160 confirmation does not show the other names than how it will help ?

Did one and the Same person affidavit worked for you? if yes, was it notarized or self-attested affidavit? if not, is there any solution to this problem?
