Need your help regarding tourist visa rules

hello everyone,
my mother needs to visit USA for 1 year. Though it is not impossible, i heard that its tough to stay here for 1year on visitor visa unless she visits her home country once. So I need to now the exact rule of USCIS regarding this aspect.
Does she need to go to her home country and stay there for a month and comeback?
I read few forums that extension on visitor visa is by-far a tough one.

I need your help badly and quickly. Please give me a solution and thanks

They can give her 6 mnths when she enters US.( should never
say one year at entry, just say 4-5 months).
ANd she can extend it for another 6 months when she is inside US.( File extension appl. I-539)
If you file the extension through a good attorney,
the extension can be granted.

No need for her to go home . Just file an extension early and properly.
