    hello,
my parents underwent B2 visa interview yesterday at usa consulate mumbai. mom got visa however dad got a green slip of 221g. mom is housewife. my dad is retired now and he used to work as a mycologist on wheat. he did some research on diseases of wheat, and gave details of the same in the form DS-160.. the interviewer asked dad 4-5 questions regarding that research, gave a green slip of 221g and asked dad to mail his resume, research, purpose etc.. I'm now confused how to proceed. is the resume imp? or shall i just put not applicable as my dad just wants to visit for tourism, applied for B2 and not work visa? and same of his research? since it was a government job, all those details cannot be accessed easily ? should i just put not applicable there also??

The reason they have put your fathers visa under "Admin processing" is because they need more details. You can't reply saying NA because in that case his visa will be rejected.

Now a days Visa officers have started putting visa application of applicants whose profession is related to military, scientist, research, medicine, etc. under processing as they need to ensure that the applicant was not working on some chemical or drugs which was hazardous.

Reply with relevant details and his visa should be approved in a months time.
