Tourist visa question

Hello,

I have a friend coming from France for 3 months on a tourist visa (no visa required when coming from France).
2 months into his trip, he plans a short trip to Canada. If he re-enters the US after this trip, does he get another 3 months allowed stay starting the day he returns from Canada?

No. He cannot reset the clock. He will be readmitted for the remaining stay on his previous 3 mnth stay.
