  • B2 visa advise for parents and younger sister

    Hi,

Here is a situation. I am on H1B working FT and sending affidavit of support for my parents and younger sister for a visit for 1 month . showing enough bank balance of mine for them.

    My queries are,

    1) My father got retired in 2004 and mother is housemaker. Sister is doing post graduate . Should it raise some concern for VO if I am sending them affidavit of support. I also send them some money but father does gets pension and have some funds in his bank but certainly not enough to pay for trip. So on affidavit form, it asks for dependants for support. Should I mention any dependant in such situation? or just say it as none.

    2) Another is regarding my younger sister. She wud be getting a month semester break next Jan before her last semester starts. So I am planing that my parents and she can visit during that time and all apply together now.

Do you have any advise or comments on all above in terms of any other documents might support this case?

    THANKS

      1. The answer should be no. They are not fully dependent on you.
      2. Though self funding is always preferred, parents succeed often on I-134 support from children in US.
That said, it is all at the discretion of the officer in the end. The same with your sis. THough her being young , single and a student
may be negative, several such candidates have succeeded in the past. So apply and hope for the best.

Documents are the usual. Your visa, passport copy, Petition copy, I-134, tax returns, bank statements, invitation.
From their side, your dad's bank statement showing pension, any property papers, your sister's enrolment proof and leave proof,
      showing her education in conitinuing.
