Typical wait to get an appointment at Chennai US consulate

My mother will be applying for a tourist visa shortly at the Chennai consulate.

What is the typical wait time to get an interview slot at the Chennai consulate? If anyone has gone through this process recently and can help, that would sincerely appreciated.

for chennai it is about 3 days. and visa processing is 1 day.

you can go to travel.state.gov and there is a link there on appointment wait times.

I had looked up that site and found the 3 day wait to get an interview slot, a bit too good to be true. Therefore, I posted here to get some feedback from recent experiences.

Actually, my mother has limited time to get this done since she will receive her new PP booklet next week, apply for a Schengen visa during the week and also try to slot in a US visa application during 3rd/4th week in October.

If the timelines on the state.gov site is correct, then I guess my mother should be ok!
