HELP visa ds-160 denied! partner received a 214(b)?????

    WE HAD:
    all relevant documents!!

I hope someone out there can help us or share advice about a similar experience. My partner and I both work and reside in Singapore (working professionals) i have an EU passport and he has a Pilipinas passport.

WE ARE HONEST PPL AND HAVE NO INTENT OF OVERSTAYING IN THE US as we are both international school teachers here.

This morning, his tourist visa was denied and received a 214(b) letter. I feel the consular overlooked his documents as we had paid for the whole trip, travel insurance, my partner has 10k in his account, letter from employee demonstrated salary and strong ties to Singapore, itinerary, last 3 months bank statements, mountains of information and yet no success?? I feel bad for my partner. Can anyone please offer some advice regarding how we can get to the USA this christmas ???? we travelled to Australia and various other parts around the globe, yet these situations are cut throat!!!!

what else an considered as strong ties? he said that he had no family here nor assets.. looks like we need to refund out christmas vacation. i didnt think the US would be so strict... i have travelled to the USA more than 6 times. my partner has never been

What about your spouse's family in Singapore? Apart from you who else is there? Teachers are very much in demand in the US and if the only family tie that your spouse has to Singapore is you, and since you already have a visa it becomes difficult for your spouse's to get one. Many time Visa Officers play by this unwritten notion that if they give visa to only one of the spouse, they are ensuring indirectly that the other spouse who does have a visa comes back.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

      Raghvi,

I doubt if they are in a spousal relationship.

      Cheers,
These are my personal thoughts. I am not a professional.

      Wishing you luck.
