  • Got B2 multiple entry visa for 10 years

Thanks immihelp and Peace999 for all your help.
I (a divorcee), my mom(widow), my sister(married) and my niece(in class 7th) went for visa interview on 10th Oct 2013 9:30 am. We had to wait a while when we were called inside at 9:30 am sharp. Our right hand finger prints were taken and told to wait in lobby for interview. 2 families gave interview on same window on which our interview was scheduled. Both of them were asked many questions but rejected. We were nervous but we had been told on this forum not to look nervous so we all were smiling and talking to show that we were not nervous. Finally we were called. I was the main person in our DS-160 family application so I was expecting lots of questions. We had scheduled visa interview in Hindi due to my mother and niece.
    First question came to me:
Q: Whom are you going to visit?
    A: uncle
    Q: Uncle?
    A: Mama.
    Q: Mama?
She could not understand that mama is mother's brother. I realised that I was going wrong. Then I said:
    A: My mother's brother.
Q: Your mother's brother? Ohh. Where is your mother?
We called our mother, who was behind my sister, in front.
Q: Where are you going in USA?
    mother: New York.
    Q: New York?
    A: Liverpool, New York.
Q: When did your brother last visit you?
    A:2008
    Q: What does he do?
    A: xxx
Q:Since when is he in USA?
    A: 1974.
    Q. Is he US citizen?
    A: Yes
Q to my niece: In which class are you young lady?
    A: Class 7th.
Q to all of us: Have you ever been to US?
A from all of us: no
Q to me and my sister: You 2 work?
    Ans: Yes
    Q:which company?
    A: xxxx
Q to my sister: Why is your husband not going?
    A: Due to business.
    Q to me: and yours?
    A: I am divorcee.
    Then those *****al words
    I am approving your visa
    Congratulations!!

So, you can see, being divorcee or widow does not create problems. We were not even asked to show our papers. We were just asked for our passports.

Today I got my passport with 10 years multiple entry visa

Thanks for all your help for making us confident.
