Returning for a visit 5 months

My parents arrived in the US in June to visit us. They were granted a 6 month stay. However they're planning to leave now after a 3 month stay. However we want them to return again in Feb 2006 (4 month gap after leaving)

Is there any issue with returning to visit the US after such a short gap ?

It's not a problem on its own.

However, it creates a problem when the persons on visitors visa try to spend majority of their time in the USA. That violates the purpose of tourist visa. If the immigration officer sees that pattern, entry into US may be denied and the person may be sent back from the airport itself. I know several people personally to whom it happened in reality.
