B2 Visa Duration of Stay

Hi,

My Mother-In-Law came to USA on 18th September 2013. At port of entry the admission stamp has admit till date 16th December 2013 whereas I-94 has admit untill date 17th March 2014. Which of the two dates should be used to define the legal duration of stay?

I tried that option and also checked the FAQ understanding I94, however what I could find about duration of stay is considered based on admission stamp or I94 that still leaves a doubt

these days they only have the passport stamp. What do you mean by I-94 duration? Do you mean the duration on the I-94 webpage?

If yes, you need to take a copy of that with the passport and go to a deferred inspection site close to your place of residence.
Deferred inspection site addresses are listed on CBP website.
