Visitor visa Appointment Date Question

Hi all,

I am planning to get my parents for a US visit next year(early April). I have taken an appointment on Nov 23rd for their VISA interview. My question to u all: is the interview date too early?
Because if they give VISA for 6 months, then they have to come to US immediately, otherwise if they want to come in April, already 5 months would have gone by.. Do you think that consulate officer would deny VISA for an early appointment and ask to come again at a later date? please advice.

It is almost certain that you will not get any post dated visa.

However, in most cases you should be ok and get a one year visa. They can explain the need to plan, etc., depending on the visa approval. I believe you have a good shot at getting what you want.

However I will suggest you get a later date if you can, as it will solve your question, unless you really need to plan.
