As of 18th October 2013 (last week) an amendment came into effect to clarify the old system, using a sliding 180-day term within which you can't have been in the Schengen zone for more than 90 days. So when you arrive or leave they will look back over the previous 180 days.
I'm sure many of you already know this, but my question is as follows:
My one-year Schengen visitor's visa started in April, and I have been in and out of the zone a few times since. When they look back over the previous 180 days from now on, can they include time spend in the zone before 18th October, the date when the new rules were implemented? There's considerable ambiguity over this since I'm not sure if they will apply the old system, the new one or a combination of both!
