Visitor Visa for Sister and Family
Originally posted by veena_swshHi,
Both u & husband r well employed. Just go with good documentations, face the interview boldly, and the visa is all yours.
Please advise me as I want to visit usa with my husband and kids. Which option is most probable i.e. with kids or without kids. My in-laws ar living with us . one kid is studying in 2nd grade and second in nursery. I would like to visit during summer vocations of 2 months. Please also tell me what is the mimimum visa period approved i.e. in days or months or year and who have chances to get 10 year multiple visa.
Thanx again

My suggestion is ....travel without husband. That way he will act as a tie
for you to come back. . And anyway it sounds "unnatural" for a husband to take a 2 month leave in a private company just for a vacation!!!!!
While a mother going with her kids for a 2 month vacation time is perfectly
"natural".
It is a very critical issue that could decide your visa because consulars
consider spouse and jobs as more important ties than in-laws
or property.
I have heard of 3m, 6m, 1yr, 5yrs and 10yr visas.
Young people going for the first time may be given a shorter term visa and a 10 yr visa the next time they apply.Old parents visiting kids in US may be given a 10 yr visa the first time they apply.
Remember ; how long you can stay in US is not decided by the visa
validity but by the inspector at the US airport of entry.Last edited by taco; 09-23-2005, 06:22 AM.

Thanx for reply, Taco
Most of the queries , I have read on website confirm that even a person have strong base like bank balance, proverty, relative etc. even they did not get visa on first attempt. It may be depend on luck even a person is very genuine.
Reg 2 months vacations in private concern , i think it should not be any problem bcoz normally 35 holidays/year are granted by company. Can you please give some clues how can i assure to visa officer that my visit is very genuine. I can reduce my visit to one month but my visit is very much genuine and we will return back.
Thanx for suggessions.

Try to understand this point;
The visa officer decides whether you will return or not through questions about your income, job and family ties.
Your CONVINCING that you will return WILL NOT COUNT.
What you can do;
1. Exclude your husband from the trip. He can apply once you have returned.
If you, your husband and your kids all apply, there are vey
high chances of refusal because you have so many close relatives settled
in US, and the visa officer will suspect that all of you may want to settle
in US with their help.
2. Be prepared for the following qs;
Where do you work? xxxx
Why do you wish to go? visit my relatives during kids' vacation
Who all are in US? brother , parents
For how long do you want to go? 2 months
Will you get leave for that much period? yes, show NOC.
What does your husband do? xxxxx
What is his income? xxxx
What is your income? xxxx
Why is he not going with you? he does not want to go, very busy at work.
Who is paying for the trip? both of us(me and my husband)
When do the kids' schools open? xxxxxxxxxx
It is not always luck, there is always some small
issue that applicants do not realize gets the refusal.Last edited by taco; 09-26-2005, 08:10 AM.
