Visitor Visa - query

My H1B visa, I797, I94 are valid upto 31Dec, 2013. My employer has started the extension process and haven't received the receipt or extended I94 yet. In the meantime, I would like to sponsor for my Mother-in-law.
I would like to know if my H1B Visa validity will impact my Mother-in-law's visitor's visa.

No problem. You can sponsor, as long as you are in the legal status, which you are.
