Just read on rediff.com, abt the U.S visa changes starting Oct 1 , 2005, thru Visa Facilitation Services (VFS) in 12 indian cities.

Application fee now to be paid before fixing the appointment , thru HDFC bank.

- How does these changes affect applicant's who already have appointment in October ?
- How do they have to pay Application fee - at the consulate during interview or before the interview
- Is there any changes in fee - Application fee(4400), Issuance Fee (2200), TTS visas fee (441)

Please post updated info. to benefit all applicants who have interview scheduled or going to schdeule.

I can see a "Re-confirm Appointment" option in the TTS website. I dont know if this option was introduced just today or if it was pre-existing that just missed my attention before. Maybe we will get an intimation via email from the TTS to Reconfirm Appointments...Not really sure. Lets wait and see.

The way I understood it, the consulates will continue to honor appointments made through TTS through end of September 2005. Any appointments dates that fall after Sep 30, MAY be asked to reconfirm their appointments on the new VFS system (and perhaps get an earlier appointment on the new system). I truly wonder why TTS is ousted? Better rates through VFS could perhaps be one reason... The new system through VFS may eliminate people booking and cancelling the appointments, as they need to pay the fee to make an appointment (which will leave only the true applicants and perhaps less backlog).

REconfirm appointment

Hi

Thru TTSvisas website, clicked 'Reconfirm appointment ' option and entered details and it said appointment reconfirmed.

Hope this is one of ways, to reconfirm yr appointment.
