    B1/B2 need C1/D while in USA

    I am in the US visiting my girlfriend on my B1/B2 visa and I just landed a job on a cruise ship vessel. I will need a C1/D visa in order to work on this ship. May I apply while here in the US? I am unable to return to South Africa before my contract will begin.

    Any information will be helpful.
