Visiting visa enquiry

I am a 19 year old person who is currently attending high school. About 5 year ago my father applied for a visit visa for me to visit the USA and i was issued a visa for a validity of 5 years and that time i was 14 years old. Unfortunately for some certain circumstances i never made an entry or traveled to the USA during this whole time. My visa is going to expire soon and i wish to apply for a new visa to enter the USA this upcoming summer. My question is when i apply for my self will i be considered applying for the first time? Will i be given a visa even if i had one before and did not travel with it before?

If the visa was issued to your name, it was your your visa and must be counted.

It will not have any negative effect on your current application at all if you did not travel on your first visa.

The new visa will be issued judging your current situation ; your ties to home country, purpose of visit and funds for the trip.
