  • ds160 - urgent question on qualification details

    Hello

After submitting my ds160 form I came to know that we have to give details of all educational institutions we have attended since the age of 11.

I have done 2 masters from UK and a bachelor degree from India. I entered only these three courses in the form. All my previous education was also from India.

Do I need to fill up a fresh ds160 form and include 10th and 12th standard details too?

    Thanks in advance

If you have already submitted it, you can't change it. Prepare a supplement listing earlier matriculation and take that to your interview.

      Hello Ray,

Thank you very much for your prompt response. I am not sure how much of the risk it will be if I just take the suppliment listing rather than filling a new form with complete details.

If the risk is greater I donot mind filling a new form. Please advise.

I am applying for B2 visa.

      Thanks in advance,

      Suman

        1. Omission of secondary school information from the DS-160, when you did include post-secondary school information, is not a "deliberate failure to disclose." error.
        2. But taking a supplement with such information to your interview, to add to the record, would balance any interviewer questions about the lack of such info on the DS-160.

Once your DS-160 has been submitted, and its control number used in obtaining an interview date, the form is not supposed to be changed,

            Question on Educational Details.

            Hi Ray,

My visa appointment is in couple of days for L-1B, and I just realized that in the Education section of the DS-160 form I have only entered my latest Education detail, but haven't added all of it. And now since the appointment confirmation is already done, and since we cannot alter the information, could you let me know, if I can take a letter from my company describing all my education details?

Could you recommend me a way out of it? Shall I cancel my appointment and create a new visa application again with all this details? Or can I take the risk of taking a supplement instead?

            Thanks and regards,
            Nitin

I don't normally work with this type of visa, though I have done an L-1 extension. My experience from that was that "documentation" is all important.

In your case, however, I would still go with my original advice, to take your other education docs and draft a simple "amendment" to the DS-160 form to offer at the interview.

                      Hello Ray,
Im currently doing my Bachelors degree in computer science and engineering and i still have 1 more year to complete my course. I have applied for a b2 visa and my appointment is on march 10th. While filling the ds 160 form, i have only entered my 10+2 details since i have not yet completed my bachelors degree. Will this be a problem? I can take my college id card with me. Do i need to cancel the appointment and do everything again?
                      please reply
                      Thanks in advance

I don't understand your issue, but I would suggest you just go to the interview and be prepared to explain and inconsistencies regarding your course issues.

                          Hello Ray

I had a similar query. I am applying for F1 visa and I have filled my recent education details i.e. undergraduate degree but missed out on the 10th std and 12th standard details. Will this be a problem. I am already done with my OFC appointment. Do you think I should fill a new DS160 and update the number in my visa profile.

Would be obliged if you could answer at the earliest.

                          Thanks

                              Forgot to Enter School Details

I have applied for F-1 visa and already scheduled my OFC and Visa appointment. But now I realised that even though I mentioned about my undergraduation, I forgot to mention about Class 10th and 12th. Is that gonna be a problem? Do I need to fill a new DS-160 or some changes could be done?
Any help on this would be appreciated.
