Mother got visa @ Chennai consulate
Dear All,
Thanks for all your help and support all the way through this process. My mother got visa on Thursday, Sept 22nd at the Chennai US consulate. She is yet to receive the passport to confirm the duration of her visa. Fortunately she was not grilled with too many questions. Following are the questions asked to her (she had a Telugu interpretor)
Amma: Namaste!
IP: Namaste!
CO: Namaste!
Amma: Can you give me a min plz?
IP: Where are you from?
Amma: Iam from XYZ city
Amma: I need to talk for a min
IP: Yes
CO: looks at my mother
Amma: A thank you note from her..
IP: How many kids you have and what they do?
Amma: answered accordingly
IP: Where is your some working?
Amma: XYZ company in XY state
IP: Who is there back home?
Amma: My unmarried daughter and my parents
CO: He handed over a receipt and asked my mother to pay her fee
Amma: She got confused and asked if she was granted a visa
IP: Yes, you ahve been issued a visa and you should receive your passport by mail.
While the interview is going, my mother noticed that the CO was flipping through all the papers which she handed over to him before the start of the interview. So thats all guys.. this site has helped right from the start of this visa process and I wish a very good luck for all who are on the same boat.
