I also want to add that the interviewer asked me if i have a copy of my husbands passport and visa but I only had a copy of his passport, he didn't ask a lot of questions about me he just asked me where have I travelled before and what was the purpose of my visit I answered that it was for tourism and to spend the new year there with my husband.

Is your husband already in US? If yes, how long has your husband in US on B1 visa in current trip?

I personally believe that a dependent visa applicant should carry all documents as if the primary visa applicant is attending the interview, that is carrying every document to avoid such unfortunate situations. Especially something like the primary visa applicants visa copy is a must.

You should apply again, and this time ensure you carry all relevant documents. Though I really doubt you would be able to get it prior to new year.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

Yes he is already in us he went there on 19 October 2013 and he will return on 18 jan 2014. So do you think that the rejection was because I didn't have a copy of his visa knowing that he I was not asked about any other documents.

Yes most probably. How else the officer would get convinced that your spouse is already in US on a valid visa and they would need to see that to decide how long to give you the visa for too.

Also, 3 Months on B1 is not extra ordinarily long neither is it too short a period to possibly not raise eyebrows with some strict officers....so 70-30 chances.

As your spouse is there only till Jan 2014, you have to get an appointment quickly otherwise the longer your spouse's stay in B1 the more the chances of refusal for you.

                Please advice

                Hi again,

Thanks a lot for your replies, I'm now applying again for b2 visa and as I mentioned before that my husband is currently at the states for almost two months he has a b1 visa I want to visit him he will return by end of January I have my hr letter from my work and my bank statement I also have a copy of my husband's passport and his visa and an hr letter from his work is this enough to prove that we are returning back or do I have to bring other documents?
I also want to mention that last time I applied the interviewer didn't ask me to show him any documents he just asked for my husband's passport and visa I don't know if I should have shown him the other documents or not, please advice.

                Thanks.
