Affidavit for Parent's Visa

Hi,

I know this has been much discussed before in different threads but there have not been any consistent answers. I am processing my parent's visa. Please let me know if the affidavit(financial and declaration of assurance of coming back) is required to be done in Stamp paper or normal page would be fine.
If parents can show the financial documents and bonding even then the affidavits are required?

Affidavits to prove intent to return are absolutely USELESS. If they worked, everyone would submit them and no one would be denied. And nowhere does it state on the embassy website that they need affidavits.

Yes I agree that it does not make sense thus am wondering whether those would be required at all.
