  • visitor visa question

    Hi everybody,
I am new to this forum. I am applying for visa for my dad . Should I be his sponsor even though he has good bank balance to show he could sponsor himself. I just want him to get visa. Iam a practicing physician here for last 3 years.
    Thanks

Who is paying for the trip? That's what the application asks, just answer that accordingly. Whoever is paying must have sufficient money, if they want to check that they will ask for appropriate evidence (bank statements). There is no sponsorship for the Visa itself. The application is made by your Father and it is his circumstances (ties to home country) that they will evaluate. That is more important than the funding part, because most applicants who apply do have sufficient funds anyway.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

strategically it is always better for an applicant to show self funding.
More than bank balance, his income will matter more if he is working.
