  • How much Bank Balance should we maintain for success B1 stamp under self sponser

    Hi Seniors,

I am applying B1 visa for my spouse under self sponsor. When it comes under self sponsor, how much money we should maintain in our bank account for successful B1 stamping under self sponsor?
If i have lump sum in my account and my wife will be appearing alone with baby for B1 (we both employed in India for some different service companies and i already have my B1 visa) should she have lumpsump in her account or she can show my account statement? Should i need to transfer the lump sum amount to my wife account for statement to show off during interview?

What are all the documents required for appearing visa under self sponsor?
I have a following check list can some one confirm if this is enough? or am i missing something here?

    1. Passport
    2. Purpose of travel / duration of stay / date of travel
    3. 3 months salary slip
    4. Company appointment Letters
    5. Revision letters
    6. Form 16 of last 3 years
    7. Company ID card
    8. 6 months bank statement
    9. Educational certificates
10 property papers / FD in original
    11 MRV fees Payment receipt
    12 appointment confirmation
    13 DS160 confirmation.

Above document show she carry for both of us or only her is sufficient? for example the company offer letter / form 16 / pay slip / bank statement and all, she need to carry only her own or she can carry mine as well?

Can some one please guide us?

    Thanks

First of all , you have not mentioned HER purpose of visit.

Is she going on a B1 ( business) visit related to her job

    OR

Is she and the baby just accompanying YOU
    on your business visit?

Thanks peace999 for looking in to my query.
Actually my spouse's mother is living in US with my spouse's elder sister and they all are LPR (Legal permanent resident)
We are trying to get B2 visa for my spouse and my child.
Myself already holding B1/B2 obtained 4 years back from my company and i had multiple short trips for training to US.

Now that my in law is not feeling well and her health conditions become serious. My in law have not seen my baby 1yr old yet.
Since my MIL unable to come india, we have a plan to visit them.

Now the plan is, i will use of my B1/B2 and my spose and baby will get B2 and we all planning to visit for 2 weeks.

Let me know i missed to explain anything else.

they do not care about bank balance as people can build that up by borrowing .
They always ask for the income of the funding person and the applicant.
Since she is earning too ,she will need to carry her own income papers ( salary slip and tax returns are usually what they ask for)
Also, if she is earning very well , she can mention "self' as the funding person in the form
and then she won't need any of your income papers.
If you think you earn a lot more and want to show yourself as the funding person in
the form DS160, she will need to carry some proof of your income. Also she must carry a copy of your visa.

          Documents;
A lot of times these days, they do not ask for any documents.
so she must carry the really important ones to avoid clutter and confusion at the window, omit the unnecessary ones like form 16, educational certificates, property papers.

Most imp are employment cum leave letter with salary slip and tax return. a copy of your visa and invite from her sister and a copy of her green card.

Ds160 confirmation, visa fee receipt, appointment confirmation, these 3 she won't need at the interview window because the entry staff will use those
before the interview. so keep all those separate from docs mentioned above.
