  • 80 yr old Father in Law visit visa refused

My wife's father was refused a visit visa to the US for the following reason.

My wife sponsored for him, however according to the cons officer, her gross salary of less than 30K isnt sufficient enough for them to grant a visa. They wanted my earnings detail. I make over 75K per annum, i did not include this in the application thinking that she had sufficient funds and real estate in her name. Evidently that wasnt enough.

For him to get his visa:
does my wife have send another application again along with anothr I-134 and my salary details?

Does he have to go back to the end of the line and go thru' the month long wait . His consulate is bombay.

    Thanks,

Yes, send new I-134 with incomes of both of you included in it.

Yes, he needs to start all over again. Take new appointment, pay fee again.

I guess that any person above the age of 72 does not require a personal visa interview at the embassy and they can apply through mail. This certainly increases the chance of getting visa.
But now since his visa has been refused once he can not use that previlege and has to go for the intervew next time as well.

There is no such rule of 72 years old.

All persons must attend personal interview, regardless of age.

          For readers in similar situation:

Regulations do not mandate a new application process as long as the requested conditions are satisfied within one year. Possible wait time for appointment/interview.
