  • B1/B2 visa for CPA exams rejected under section 214b

Hi I am a 22 year old single female and have been preparing for the CPA exams for the last 3 months now.I have been assisting my father in his business for the last one a half year since my graduation and now I want to do CPA and get a job.
I have completed the entire procedure for obtaining the NTS(or admit card) from NASBA to go to the US and write the exams. I had applied for the visa and went ahead with the entire VISA process. Here is how the interview went:

C: Please give me your passport. What is your purpose of travel to the US?
Me: I am going there for giving the CPA exams. I have undergone the whole application process and have received the NTS or the admit card from NASBA to schedule the exams.
C: how long do you plan on being there?
Me: 15 days. I have made travel arrangements for 15 days.
    C: Are you working
Me: No not with any company
C: who is sponsoring your trip?
    Me: My parents
C: what do they do and their annual income?
Me: They are civil contractors ad their incomes are Xlacs pa and Ylacs pa
    C: okay
Me: I am also assisting them i their business so i have an income of Zlacs pa too.
C: okay. Well i am sorry i cant give you the visa

And I was just too shocked to react and I was handed over my passport with the rejection letter explaining rejection due to section 214b

I was expecting to be asked for some documents. I had the NTS(admit card),confirmed round trip tickets, confirmed hotel booking for 15 days, travel insurance, my ITR for 3 years,my balance sheet, and my parents's ITRs and BSs.
I know it was my fault to not have gone prepared for the interview.

I have a property in my name in my home country but I didnt get any oppurtunity to explain it to her.
Now I am reapplying within 15 days since my NTS will be expiring soon.
Please tell me what should i do next time?
Should i mention that my visa was rejected the last time for lack of strong ties but the officer didnt see that I have a home in my name here and show them the papers? I also have 4 Life insurance policies and a bank account with enough balance to take care of the trip's expenses. Should i show these all to them next time even if it is not asked?
I really want to and have to get through the next time. Please advise.

LIC policy, inherited property, same business as parents are not strong ties to home country. A strong job and spouse/kids are generally the strongest ties which you dont have. As for NASBA CPA Exam I believe you can give it outside USA too.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

Thank you for replying but NO i cant give the exam anywhere other than US. These international centres are for people residing in those countries. Students from India who qualify have to travel to the states only to give the exam. I need to get the US visa as I have invested a lot in this.
Would ownership of property make no difference? How can I prove that I am engaged to someone here and intend to come back and marry him?

I understand, unfortunately, if you reapply too quickly , a visa denial is very certain unless you present extra evidences. You can try, you may get lucky, but I don't see a positive outcome. A strong job in India or marriage before you reapply is the only thing I can suggest to better convince the Visa officer .

more than documents , the info you fill in the form is very important.

who are the relatives you have in US? their visa status
who is paying for the trip?
what are you doing in INdia? are you working? your income roughly?

have you ever been denied a US visa before?

            also interview questions;

why are you taking this exam in US? meaning what are your future plans?

no offense but you have not read my post carefully and not answered all the questions
(they will decide more on your situation rather than more documents. what you have is enough)

If your BIL is in US where is your sister ? does she have a green card?
