Query about applying for B2 visa Self Sponsored by my parents

Hi,

I am currently in USA on H1B visa for almost 2 years now. I am planing to call my parents to USA in the month of May 2014. They are planing to Self Sponsor their B2 Visa. And i have few queries related to that:

1. Since my parents are planing to Self Sponsor their B2 visa and they have Bank Balance of 7 Lakhs and 5 lakhs in FD. Also 1 house, 2 shops and jewellery. Would amount mentioned earlier would be enough or they need more?

2. Since they are planing to Self Sponsor their visa do i have to send any documents from myside?

3. While filling up DS-160 form i am confused regarding what should be entered at Place of Stay in USA? Since they are going to tell reason for visit to USA as tourism and also to visit son. Shall they enter any Hotel address in USA or shall they enter my residing address?

Please let me know if above queries are not clear.

1. if they are working , their income will be the important issue rather than their savings.
if they are retired, they can be judged on their savings. Though their is no official figure for savings balance, what they have seems
to be on the borderline. It will be safer for you to sponsor them. Children sponsoring parents is routine.
2. if they show self funding, you only need to send an invite, copies of your visa, petition, and entry stamp.
if you will sponsor then you need to send an I-134 , tax return, bank statement, salary slip in addition to the above.
3.the main purpose is visiting you so they must write your address.

there will be an other important factor ; if they have any children living in India.

First of all Thanks for your reply.

Currently my Dad is self employed and he owns business and Yearly income would be approx. 5 lakhs.

And through forums i came to know that chance of getting Visa approval in case of Self Sponsor are more compare to other sponsoring them. Hence we can thought of doing Self Sponsor.

I have one elder sister but she is married. But can we say that my sister and husband are living with my parent only. Hence they would come back after short trip to US?

Also since they a planing to come in month of May 2014 and if they go for interview now then would that be an issue?

you are right , self sponsored has better odds but one must have the strong income/savings for that. If
one presents self funding on low income , that leads to denial as well.

No offense,but 5L/yr is not good enough. Must have at least double of that for self funding.
so, you should sponsor.

Well, they may not ask them whether she is living with them or not. And one should not
say things they do not ask about . Also they should stay with the truth, as a follow up question
can reveal the truth anyway.

Applying now for a summer trip in May is perfectly fine.
