  • B2 for short term sports training

Hello, i am currently in Australia. I am planning to return home to India permanently soon. I am currently participating in sports ( ten pin bowling) leagues and tournaments here. I even have medals which i won in western Australia state bowling championships. My dream is to become a professional bowler.

Once I come back to india it will be hard for me to get trained as there are no performance coaches in India for tenpin bowling. I am thinking of going to USA to get trained for 3-4 months by a USBC (united states bowling congress) approved coach. I am still single so When i reach India i will have neither a job or spouse. I have enough savings to sponsor myself( includes payslips).

I have no intention to stay in Usa as my dream is to play for India in bowling world cup and to participate in Asian games which will run in september 2014.

Will i be able to get a B2 visa. Will it help if i get a letter from a coach with an intention to train me. Any suggestions will be very helpful.

Being single and out of a job, they won't give you a visa even if you have the letter from US and the funds for the trip.

Spouse/kids and strong income/job or business are the most
    important ties they look for.

I advise you to first be in a job or a business for some months earning good income. When you apply for a US visa, it should appear to the officer that you are
    well settled in India.
