  • B2 Visa for parents, Queries

    Hi,

Me and My brother are in USA and are applying for our parents B2 visa. in feb, 2014. Both of us are married, my brother is on H1 and staying in US for last 10 months. I am on L1 and staying since last 4 months.
My brother is sponsoring the trip since i dont have sufficient fund to sponsor.

    My questions are :

    1. When the visa officer ask: who you are visiting in US, do they need to say about both of us or since my brother is sponsoring they have to say about only about my brother.
    2. My brother will be filing tax for the first time this month but he dont have the US tax doc as of now. Do we need a letter stating no having the US tax document.
    3. Is having both son in US a negative impact. We have one sister, she is married and is in India. we also have our grand-father and he is fully dependent on my parents, father is in Govt. Job and has 6.5 LPA income and have a house on his name, my mother is a housewife.

Your suggestions will be helpful for us.

    Thanks.

    1. Since both of you are there, and this has to be mentioned in the form. When asked , the reply should
    be" visiting our sons".
2.No need. They can just mention that if asked. Other proof of income like salary slip should be ok.
    3. Yes. Unfortunately, it is a significant negative. But you cannot do anything about it. Let them apply , they may get lucky.
If your dad had better income, he could have show self funding. That would have been a plus.

      Thanks for your prompt reply.

      One more query, pls.

For every questions do they have to mention about both of us, like : where does your son work, what is his income, which company he works etc etc..

      Thanks much

as far as I remember from the form DS160, they only ask the contact information( address/phone) of the host( they need to mention only one).
For the question do you have an immediate relatives in US, just mention who all. They do not ask for detailed info for each.
