  • Police clearance certificate asked for parents visitor visa

    Hi Experts,

My parents had their visitor visa interview today. Consulate officer kept my mothers passport and gave back fathers passport along with a document request for 'Police clearance certificate from regional passport office'. They are asked to submit the document at OFC location.
As I understand, this means my mother's visa is approved and her passport with stamped visa will be sent in few days. For my father, we need to submit the police certificate after which visa will be approved. Please advise if my understanding is correct?

Also, we are not clear whether my father need to submit police certificate along with passport at OFC. Or does he need to again attend the interview?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Regards,
    Amjad

I have never heard about they asking for the police clearance certificate for visitors visa. Did your father get into any trouble in the past?

You will have to submit the required documents along with the passport. After that, they will decide whether to issue him visa or not.
