  • sponsoring b2 visa and green card conflict

    Hello All,

I am sponsoring tourist visa for my parent in March 2014 and my second H1 is getting expired in Dec 2014. A GC (labor) has been filed in Dec 2013. But visa officer may ask my parents if GC has been applied for me. Please advise what should be the correct reply. Yes, No or we don't know ?? Or any additional details ??

    Hello, Dhiraj.

Your GC application has no bearing on your parent's B2 eligibility. They are being evaluated on their profile in India and your valid H1B status in USA.

Further, if GC has been applied, please provide correct information to the Visa Officer at the time of interview. If your parents know that GC has been applied, they should respond Yes, if asked.

    I hope this helps.

    Wishing you luck.

    Cheers,
These are my personal thoughts. I am not a professional.

    Wishing you luck.
