  • Last Name problem

    Dear Members,

I am planning apply for a visitor visa for my parents.
Process seems simple but I have some problem regarding the last name of my parents.

    1. My last name in passport is 'surname1'. My parents' last name in my passport is surname1'.
    2. My parents' passport contains their last name as 'surname2' in their passport

By cast as per Hinduism, 'surname1=surname2'.
Is there is legal process to prove this(surname1=surname2), so visa process will be smooth?
Also, which last name shall I mention in the invitation letter while applying for the visa?
It will be helpful if you can guide me on this.

    Thanks in Advance.

I completely understand what you are going through.

However, there is really no legal process to prove that surname1 = surname2.

They could possibly get an affidavit prepared that says something like that and how both the surnames are the same.
    Sample at https://www.immihelp.com/sample-one-...s-immigration/

However, it is not necessary that your surname and their surname be the same. They can be different.

You should prepare all the documents as per their surname in their own passport.
