  • Apply again for Tourist Visa

    Hi,

My parents and sister applied for a tourist Visa at Delhi office in December 2013 which got declined under section 214(b). At that time my sister didnt have a job but she has a job now in Pune (with 1.5 yrs bond with the company). I am planning on applying again for my parents and sister together. I am going to sponsor them, My dad has a full-time job and has property documents to show a proof of attachment in India. Since my sister is working in Pune, they all want to apply in Mumbai office (not in Delhi office). Is it a bad thing to apply in an office other than the one you got a denial before unless you have a good reason??

I am overly cautious now and want to make sure that my parents and sister have a good application this time.

    Thanks for the help,
    Gaurav

they can apply in mumbai . But simply having a job with a short history and a short contract may not be good enough. They want to see a stable long term job with strong income, especially people who are young and single. Also, you sponsoring will be a negative. If your dad earns very well, let him fund the trip for everyone.

      Thanks for the suggestion.

I think my dad can show the property documents and other financial documents but I doubt if he can show a lot of liquid money in his account. How much are we talking about by the way if my dad sponsors the VISA for three people?

My sisters graduated in fall last year and recently got a job at Fujitsu with a bond for 1.5 yrs...it is a full-time job but they made her sign a bond so that she doesnt leave the company before 1.5 years. Wouldnt it help? Also, what other documents do you suggest for my sister to make her application stronger?

      Thank you so much!

If your sis can take a letter that her employment is ongoing , do not take the bond to the embassy, and she must take her salary slip with her. If she is earning even if 50-60k/mo, she can write SELF for the question who is funding the trip. Usually they do not ask for any documents and decide on the basis of the info on DS 160, but you never know. About your parents , I am wondering what happened last time, why were they denied. Did you sponsor them last time And what is your dad's income roughly?
Self funding requires good income for working people, not bank balance. And for parents sponsorship by children usually works.

Last time I sponsored them and my sister didnt have a job. I understand my sister's visa denial but not my parents'.

My dad earns around 60k per month but they live in a small town.

Also, I dont think my sister earns 50K per month..it should me more like 30K.

My sister is going to start the job on March 18th. How long should I wait to re-apply?
